Goodnews of Sisters and Brother

It is great joy when sisters and brother do well in exams. By the grace of God, all have done well.

Liahey & Simasa at Angi Shomachi's Graduation on 28 March 2012
Sister Shomachi complete her Bachelor of Theology from Hope Theological College, Bangalore after working hard for three years. Now she is back to home to take care of our mom.
Yocholi, our youngest sister.
She is living with our parents back home. She is just promoted to class vi.
Yoza, Ngwazosa (centre) and Musiya.
Yoza just completed her 11th standard. Ngwazosa for his class x and Musiya for class viii.

We praise God for all His blessings. We were extremely worried whether Ngwazosa could make it as he had lots of sicknesses during the academic year and he still has.

Parents News

Yesterday Siahey arrived at Miao. He said mom was getting better. She could walk around with supports on both sides. And she could sit down slowly. But dad has malaria. He is very weak now. We need to continually pray for him.

This young tree bears plenty of mango (OM Centre, Bangalore, 17 April 2012).

Two Tamarind Trees

There are two tamarind (imli) trees in front of our rent house in Bangalore. I see the owner pluck lots of fruits every year. But this year I observe that each tree grows differently. One develops leaves ahead of the other. When one is full of leaves, the other just started budding.

This prompted some thought

  • When I give useful advice, some people receive immediately. Some don’t at all.
  • Some pick concepts easily, some rarely get it during classroom.
  • Some are quick to anger from the time I know.
  • My friends with whom I drank/smoke still continue to this day. Some have quit and have become key church leaders.

I wonder why? But a Scripture came to my mind, “… he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NIV).

Perhaps, there is more possibility of changing for believers, because God is at work. I gained confidence once again, that God helps me grow in the pace I can make.

The trees at later time. These trees are located at these coordinates.

Insight when tempted

Yesterday a friend shared devotion from Luke 22:39-46 Jesus Prays on Mount Olives.

Key thought: What’s the connection between prayer and temptation?

Jesus did not ask his disciples to pray that they will not face temptation but they will not fall into temptation. In prayer, God gives us the strength and wisdom to overcome temptation that will lead to sins.

In Luke 22:31-32, Jesus prayed for Peter so that his faith will not fail.

In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus modeled his disciples to pray “Lead us not into temptation”. That slightly complicated my understanding of the connection.

However, one thought came through very strongly. When I know some temptation is on my way, I’ll pray. In God’s mystery, he provides a way out (1 Cor 10:13).
