Beginning March this year, the Bangalore weather has been
hot. News reported this level of heat is occurring after 15 years!
During these hot days, we get rain once in a while. Normally
the longest rain is for about an hour. But after the rain, the area becomes
very humid and no wind. That leaves us very warm and sweaty. Add to if
electricity goes off, it becomes extremely difficult to even sleep.
But sometimes instead of raining in our locality, it occurs
elsewhere. Then we get cold wind and no humidity. That is very good for us. We
enjoy the coolness while others might be having high humidity.
So I keep saying when its about to rain, “I wish it doesn’t
rain in our neighbourhood”.
But this also helps me to reflect my attitude based on
biblical teaching.
Do to others as you would like them to do to you – Matthew 6:31 (NLT).
The text does not exactly say that. But the underlying
principle is the same – wish for the best of others. And in my wishing to let
others have rain and humidity, I have not reflected this core teaching of our
Lord Jesus.
