Tips to prepare a presentation in conferences

Steps

1. The first thing is to settle the objectives of the paper. You have clear cut plan what to achieve through this presentation. To make this happen:
1. Consult experienced people.
2. Meet presenter with consultant to finalize the outline. Best to have presenter prepare outline and then refine it further.
3. Consultant helps throughout the writing of the paper
4. You need at least a ppt and a paper

1. Dates for draft 1, 2 and 3
2. Dates for practice presentations 1 and 2
3. Practice presentation 1
1. Get critique as a colleague
2. Get critique as conference audience
4. Practice presentation 2
1. Get critique as a colleague and further refine you ppt and paper
5. Final ppt and paper

Specific suggestions on ppt

Dos

1. Keep minimum write up in bullet points
2. Use consistent font and styles

Donts

1. Use too many words
2. Use blinking styles
3. Say I have database
