Follow me

I think the longest distance I covered in Bangalore city in a single day is 50 km on 8 May. I travelled from Hennur Road – Tilaknagar – Jayanagar—Majestic —Rajajinagar – Back to Hennur Road.

I have been through most of them, except Jayanagar – Majestic. I had to enquire many people. Finally, a fellow biker told me “Follow me. I am going to the same place”. A kind of fresh confidence developed just hearing that. I followed him for two signals. Then I lost him but kept continuing the same direction. Several times I thought I am heading toward the wrong direction but kept going. Finally, I reached Majestic, just very close to where I wanted to reach.

This incident reminded me to two things.
  • First, the word of Jesus to his disciples when he first called them “Follow me”. He was making a very meaningful and compelling statement. He wanted them to come after him and learn from him. Not a theory from another school, but from a person, that is him.
  • Secondly, just as I continued my journey toward the direction my fellow biker went, Jesus left marks so that I can continue without seeing him daily. His word and his guidance continue to support and help me walk daily by faith.
