Lesson from spider and its web

We don't have this kind of spider in my home village, Shidi in Arunachal Pradesh. But spiders employ more or less the same strategy. They stretch their web -- may be to rest, live but more than that to find its food.

They make web to prey insects. Insects are trapped and become food for them. The better their web, the chance for them.

This cautions me about the friend circle or building network of people. Eventhough, friends help each other. They are not based on whether I help or not. My intentions to befriend must never be for my personal gain. I should not aim to extract something useful. Never become spiders.

The picture serves as a good reminder for me.
